The Evaluation Process

Once you choose the LEC for your family, the evaluation has 3 steps.

    1. Intake Appointment

A LEC psychologist will meet with you to discuss your child’s development and understand your questions and goals for the evaluation. We will send you intake forms before this meeting.

    2. Assessment Session(s)

Testing at the Learning Evaluation Center usually takes one or two sessions, and families may choose to complete testing at either our Littleton or Boulder, Colorado location. We work with you to create an assessment plan tailored to your child’s needs and, with your permission, gather information from other settings such as school. After testing is complete, we’ll schedule a meeting to review the results and walk through recommendations together.

    3. Feedback Session

The feedback session happens about three weeks after testing. You’ll get a draft report, and the evaluation team will go over it with you. The final report usually includes history, test results, explanations, and suggestions. We also write a brief family letter with pictures that summarizes key findings.
