Dr. Lisa Costello
LEC Director
Dr. Lisa Costello brings over 15 years of experience in clinical and school psychology to her role as Director of the Zarlengo Foundation Learning Evaluation Center. Prior to joining the Learning Evaluation Center, she spent many years on the faculty of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado. There, she engaged in community outreach, teaching, and research, and worked as a psychologist in schools and pediatric primary care to promote children’s well‑being and success.
Families who work with Dr. Costello have shared that they feel understood and supported. She takes the time to get to know each child, including their unique strengths and areas they need extra support, while building positive connections that make the evaluation process as comfortable as possible. Her reports for families are comprehensive and detailed, yet easy to understand and act on.
Dr. Costello earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from West Virginia University and completed advanced training at Indiana University, receiving a Master of Science in Educational Psychology, an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology, and a PhD in School Psychology. Her clinical training includes the LEND fellowship (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, a predoctoral internship at the Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center, and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Brown University’s School of Medicine.
